New In

Table Top

Hordes: Primal Mk. II (Softcover £24, Hardcover £34)
At last the new Hordes MKII book is out! Take control of a powerful warlock and his horde of fierce warriors and monstrous warbeasts in the second edition of this fast-paced and aggressive 30 mm tabletop miniatures battle game set in the foreboding wilds of western Immoren, home of the Iron Kingdoms.

Dungeon Master's Token Set (£20)
The Dungeon Master’s Token Set is the first of many accessories for DUNGEONS & DRAGONS 4th edition. Created in co-operation with Wizards of the Coast, this set contains everything a DM needs to manage combats and track the status of a dungeon’s denizens as they battle intrepid adventurers.

Each full-colour token is made from thin but durable acrylic and the back is covered with a layer of felt to protect your tabletop, map and miniatures. The 22 dragonscale-shaped tokens are designed to nest against the base of your DUNGEONS & DRAGONS miniatures and indicate which game effects they might be under. The 18 scroll tokens act as handy reminders for status and ongoing damage effects. These tokens are designed so the DM may mark them with a wet erase marker. The set also includes 5 drop-shaped Bloodied tokens and 5 corpse markers.

Card Games

Munchkin Card Game (Colour Edition) (£tbc)

Munchkin is the mega-hit card game about dungeon adventure ... with none of that stupid roleplaying stuff. You and your friends compete to kill monsters and grab magic items. And what magic items! Don the Horny Helmet and the Boots of Butt-Kicking. Wield the Staff of Napalm or maybe the Chainsaw of Bloody Dismemberment. Start by slaughtering the Potted Plant and the Drooling Slime, and work your way up to the Plutonium Dragon. Age 10+, players 2-6.

Coming Changes

It is with sadness that we have decided to discontinue our ranges of Flames of War and Ancients miniatures. The space freed up by these changes will enable us to expand our existing range of board games, family games and toys and table top games.

Friday Night Magic

This Friday (30 July) is a casual FNM night. Doors open from store closing. It's a great opportunity to try those decks out and trade. £1

Future Events

• Thursday, 29 July

  Local historian Mike Ingram will be coming back to the Vault to give a talk on military tactics. This talk should be of interest to table top players, or anybody who is interested in military history in general.

  The talk will be taking place in our first floor room on Thursday evening from 7pm until 9pm. DOUBLE VAULT POINTS on all table top game products this evening!

• Saturday, 31 July

  The Uncharted Seas Tournament. 800pt fleets; weather and time of day rules. Registration from 10am, play begins 11am. £5. DOUBLE VAULT POINTS on all Spartan Games products today!

• Wednesday 4, August

  The start of The Games Vault Summer Warmachine/Hordes campaign. More details and other summer events will be announced on the forum very shortly.

• Saturday, 7 August

  Mordheim Demo. Mordheim is a skirmish game set in the Warhammer World, where you lead mercenary warbands or packs of dark creatures in a narrative campaign, to search for Wyrdstone and slay your enemies in Mordheim, City of the Damned. If you like the idea of playing in a narrative campaign where the outcome of each battle effects the next, where your warband progress, gaining experience and better equipment, then Mordheim is for you. From 11.00am. Free.

• Saturday, 14 August

  Magic: the Gathering M11 Game Day. The first major event since the release of M11 one month ago. All entrants in this standard tournament will receive a promotional full art card, with the top eight finishers also receiving a limited edition, full art foil card. All promo cards available while stocks last. Registration from 10am, play begins 11am. £5. DOUBLE VAULT POINTS on all Magic: the Gathering products today!
