New In

Card Games

Magic: the Gathering 2011 Core Set (£various). The new set is now out and Wizards have bought back the 60 card intro packs. These great Introduction sets contain a ready to play 60 card deck with a rare foil as well as a booster and learn to play guide.

We also have M11 Fat Packs and boosters. Remember that we now have our regular magic nights on Fridays.

Battle Hives are Back!

Many aeons ago, there was a mythical range of cases that provided a sturdy storage solution with foam trays flexible enough for all kinds of figures. Many have heard the tales told of these cases, but few have ever been fortunate enough to see one of the mythical boxes, let along be lucky enough to own one.

Tales have recently been coming in from travelling caravans that the cases have returned to our world once more. We have heard tell of a group known only as the "Crystal Caste" who claim to have intimate links with the boxes and we are in negotiation with them to capture a number of the cases so that we can bring them to you, our loyal customers.

Discussion continues apace as we endeavour to determine if the cases being hunted now are the same as those told of in the stories, and as soon as we have seen the evidence from the Crystal Caste we will issue a proclamation.

In the meantime, we will be accepting pre-orders from customers wishing to get their hands on one of these fabled boxes of old.

(In other words, Crystal Caste are going to produce the Battle Hive once again. We're waiting to hear if the specifications will be the same as the previous Hives, but we do know that they will be available in two sizes. We will put up a thread on the forums for you to register your interest and as soon as we have more details we'll let you know!)

• Warmachine Tournament
  This will be a mission based tournamnet with players playing three different missions during the day. Registration from 10am, play begins 11am. £5. DOUBLE VAULT POINTS on all Privateer Press products today!

• Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournament.
  This will be a structured deck tournament using the advanced format. 40 card minimum decks. Registration from 10am, play begins 11am. £5. DOUBLE VAULT POINTS on all Yu-Gi-Oh! products today!

Thursday, 29 July

• Local Historian Mike Ingram will be holding another talk for us on Thursday, 29 July. Please check our forums for more details.

  The talk will be on military tactics. This very interesting subject will benefit any table top player.

Saturday, 31 July

• The Uncharted Seas Tournament
  Uncharted Seas Tournament, 800pt fleets; weather and time of day rules. Registration from 10am, play begins 11am. £5. DOUBLE VAULT POINTS on all Spartan Games products today!

Saturday, August 7

• Mordheim Demo Day
  Mordheim is a skirmish game set in the Warhammer World, where you lead mercenary warbands or packs of dark creatures in a narrative campaign, to search for Wyrdstone and slay your enemies in Mordheim City of the Damned. If you like the idea of playing in a narrative campaign where the outcome of each battle effects the next, where your warband progress, gaining experience and better equipment, then Mordheim is for you. From 11.00am. Free.

Vault Bowl is Coming!

We now have 18 players registered for our two day Blood Bowl tournament on September 18-19. The payment deadline for players entering the tournament is Saturday, 21 August. The entry fee is £20 to cover costs and prizes and will include vouchers for beer and burger at the Saturday night barbecue.

Places are still available if you're interested in signing up. Just contact Steve at the shop by phone, email, PM or just drop in.
